POSITION: Human Resource Manager (1)
LOCATION: Dar es Salaam
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Human Resource Manager ensures the streamlined operation of the Human Resource department in alignment with the business objectives of the organization. The role involves planning, coordinating, directing, and designing HR-related activities, as well as providing administrative direction and support for the department’s daily operations.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Reports to the General Manager.
- Develop and administer the annual budget, ensuring spending remains within the approved limits.
- Set priorities, assign tasks, and schedule work completion.
- Liaise with third-party service providers per company policy and monitor progress and quality.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies and SOPs for HR at the plant level.
- Implement policies related to organization development, performance management, employee training, equality, compensation, and benefits.
- Maintain HR documentation and records.
- Participate in corporate strategic planning by identifying HR constraints and opportunities, proposing actionable strategies.
- Recommend accountability and authority limits for subordinates, monitor performance, and take corrective action as needed.
- Ensure compliance with legal and government reporting regulations.
- Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
- Advise management on resolving employee relations issues.
ENTRY REQUIREMENTS:
- Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or related field.
- Master’s degree will be an added advantage.
- Experience:
- At least 8 years of relevant working experience in similar roles.
COMPETENCIES/SKILLS:
- Proven strong leadership skills.
- Knowledge of labor laws and trade union management, including CBA negotiations.
- Strong understanding of HR management principles and practices.
- Excellent understanding of the organization’s goals and objectives.
- Proficiency in project management principles.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
