myNOVA Login Portal: NOVA Student Login
If you already have an account, please enter your username and password below. If you are a new user, you will need to create an account before you can use the service.
How to myNOVA Login Portal
- Visit official website link https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu/
- After page open fill required details that are
- Username
- Password
- Finally, click on Login button for successful login in the system
- The next page displays links to Canvas, Student Email and the Student Information System (a.k.a., NOVAConnect). Click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System to enter NOVAConnect.

How To Change Password
These instructions will help you change your password for NOVAConnect, Student Email and Canvas. The same username and password are used for all three services, so when you change the password for one, all three passwords will change.
- Click on the MyNOVA tab on the NOVA home page.
- Click on the Green MyNova button.
- Enter your Username and Password and click Log In.
- Click Account Details in the upper right of the window.
- Click the Change your Password button
- Enter a new password that meets the security standards found on the right side of the page:
- At least one UPPERCASE letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number (0-9)
- At least one special character (e.g.` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + { } [ ] – \ / ? : ‘ ,)
- Press the OK button
How to reset password
- Click on the myNOVA tab on the NOVA home page.
- When the new page appears. Click on Forgot Password link.
- Enter your MyNova username.
- Press the OK Button.
- The system will prompt you to answer three of your security questions.
- Once each question is answered, press the OK button.
- You will be prompted to enter a new password, enter one that meets the security standards found on the right side of the page.
- At least one UPPERCASE letter
- At least one lowercase letter
- At least one number (0-9)
- At least one special character (e.g.` ~ ! @ # $ % ^ & * ( ) _ + { } [ ] – \ / ? : ‘ ,)
- Press the OK button.
NOVAConnect
NOVAConnect is the name of NOVA’s Student Information System (SIS), your central source for accessing all your essential student information at your convenience.
Student Information System (SIS)
NOVAConnect gives you the ability to complete an array of online tasks including searching and registering for classes, dropping/swapping courses, accessing your records, making payments and managing your personal information.
To access NOVAConnect, the Student Information System (SIS), click on myNOVA > Log In > click on VCCS SIS: Student Information System > click on Student Center.
Canvas Learning Management System (LMS)
The Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) offers NOVA students an online platform to engage with course materials and assignments and to communicate with faculty and classmates. You can access the Canvas LMS simply by logging in to MyNOVA. This website provides a series of resources that will allow students to explore Canvas features and locate support materials.
VCCS Student Email Account
Important Notice: Students cannot activate their VCCS student email until they have enrolled for classes. All fees must be paid before students can access their email.
Accessing Your Email
Sign into MyNOVA to register for your classes.
NOVA Online courses rely on the use of email to facilitate the communications among instructors and students. You have been assigned a Virginia Community College System (VCCS) email account and are required to use it for any course-related email communications so your privacy can be ensured as required by law.
To find out your VCCS email account, go to https://nvcc.my.vccs.edu.
Establish VCCS Email Account
- Log in to MyNOVA with your new password.
- Select Gmail link.
- Read and agree to Gmail agreement terms.
- Your account is established once you can view your Gmail inbox.
- Check your student email daily for important information.
- MYNOVA email can be forwarded to a personal email account by clicking on settings (a gear icon) in the top right corner of your inbox.
- This is the official form of communication from NOVA and all notifications/information will be sent via student email.
NOVA Student Gmail Account
NOVA’s Google email and Google Apps are available to NOVA students.
The Google email system provides you with a reliable and secure way to send and receive email. Emails are delivered through a Web browser and email addresses will not change.
Important Student Gmail Information
- All email addresses are [email protected].
- You do NOT need to set up a new Gmail account.
- If you do not know your username or password, click on myNOVA from the Academic Tools page and then click on Forgot Password. Use the same link to reset your password.
- Access your email via myNOVA.
- Your mailbox size is 25GB. Spam and virus protection is included. It has mobile access.
