What Is the JAE Appeal Exercise?
The JAE Appeal Exercise allows eligible 2026 JAE applicants to request a transfer or placement into:
- Polytechnic full-time diploma courses, and/or
- ITE 2-year Higher Nitec courses
⚠️ Important:
Applicants appealing for Junior College (JC) or Millennia Institute (MI) courses must contact the institutions directly. These appeals are not handled through the JAE Online Appeal Portal.
Who Is Eligible to Appeal?
You can appeal via the portal if:
- You took part in the 2026 JAE
You cannot appeal via the portal if you fall under any of the following categories:
- Current students in ITE 2-year Higher Nitec
- Current students in Year 2 or 3 of 3-year Higher Nitec (enhanced curriculum)
- Recent Higher Nitec graduates (graduated on or after 1 May 2025)
- Students who left ITE due to disciplinary reasons within the past 2 years
❗ Such applicants must approach ITE directly. Any posting made through the portal for these cases may be invalidated by ITE.
JAE Appeal Login & Technical Issues
- You must create a JAE Appeal account before logging in
- Use “Forgot JAE Appeal Password” if you cannot remember your password
- Maximum of 10 failed login attempts (account will be locked after that)

Courses You Can Appeal For
- You may appeal for up to 6 courses (polytechnic diploma and/or ITE 2-year Higher Nitec)
- You must meet the Minimum Entry Requirements (MERs)
- Your aggregate score must be equal to or better than the last student posted in the 2026 JAE
- Last aggregate scores will be shown under the Courses tab from 3 February 2026

- Polytechnic:
- Meet MERs
- Net ELR2B2 ≤ 26
- ITE:
- Meet MERs of the course
Can You Withdraw Your Appeal?
Yes. You may withdraw your appeal by 6 February 2026 (Friday), 4:00pm.
Your original posting will be retained if:
- You withdraw before the deadline, and
- You had already accepted your polytechnic or Higher Nitec posting
⚠️ If you did not accept your Higher Nitec posting and then withdraw, you will not have any posting.
Release of Appeal Results
- Results will be released on 23 February 2026 at 9:00am
- Email and SMS alerts will be sent by 27 February 2026
- Log in to the portal to view your outcome
If You Are Unsuccessful
- If you had no prior posting, the system may assign you an alternative course (subject to vacancies and MERs)
Do You Need to Accept the Appeal Outcome?
No acceptance is required in the portal.
- Polytechnic:
- Enrolment details sent by post/email (end-Feb to early-March)
- ITE:
- Login instructions sent by 23 February 2026
- Accept between 23 Feb 2026, 9:00am – 25 Feb 2026, 11:59pm at

If you already accepted a Higher Nitec course earlier and are offered another one, your status will update automatically.
Do You Need to Withdraw From Your Original Course?
- Polytechnic / ITE: Original posting is automatically revoked if appeal is successful
- JC / MI: You must inform the institution directly to withdraw
Important Notes to Remember
- Successful appeal → Original JAE posting revoked
- Unsuccessful appeal → Original posting retained
- Appeal withdrawal deadline: 6 Feb 2026, 4:00pm
- Login attempts capped at 10 before lockout
