This role is suitable for recent graduates or candidates with less than three years of experience who want to build a career in Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) within a leading international energy company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting safety compliance, promoting a strong safety culture, coordinating inspections and audits, assisting with risk assessments, and ensuring that employees and contractors follow TotalEnergies HSSE procedures. GRADUATE TRAINEE-HSSE
Context & Environment
- HSE is the responsibility of everyone, your main objective is to build a strong safety culture among all employees and contractors working at your site.
- Working long hours and sometimes during weekends, public holidays.
- Close coordination with;
- Internally: Operations Director, internal auditor, Commercial Department, Network Manager, HR Manager and Depot Managers, etc.
- Externally: Contractors, Engineering Consultants, Network dealers, Consumer customers, Government institutions such OSHA & NEMC.
Activities
- Ensure compliance with the work permit system and prevention plan by conducting regular worksite inspection.
- Promote implementation of digital tools: IZI safety, OSCAR, digital permit, etc.
- Ensure contractors working at your site are trained in TotalEnergies HSE requirements (HSE procedures) and are ICC audited.
- Ensuring day-to-day supervision of high risk works and conduct periodic site inspections.
- Identifying potential hazards & conducting HSE risk assessment (CTA, SCOPs, critical task, etc.) and communicating mitigation measures to the workforce involved.
- Enhance HSE reward system, safety innovations and zero fatal accident program to promote a strong safety culture among staff and contractors.
- Execution of emergency response procedures and conducting periodic drills together with the site manager.
- Responsible for building a strong safety culture among employees and contractors, this includes conducting regular training and sharing REX to employees and contractors.
- Coordinate the overall inspection & audit activities plan, prepare action plan and ensure implementation of actions.
- Inserting reported incidents/near misses/anomaly/exposure values into Ramses and following up the action plan.
- Managing health of employees, this includes monitoring the quality of food, conducting IH surveys, drinking water and ensure cleanness of sanitary facilities.
- Ensure consignment sites or the GT sites owned or operated by TE staff implement respective HSE requirements, this includes periodic HSE inspection of these sites, conducting risk assessments, and monitoring integrity program. of the critical equipment.
- Complete any other tasks assigned by the HSSE & TI Director
Candidate Profile
- Engineering Degree from a recognized higher learning institution.
- Must have good command of English language (speaking and writing) and should be an effective communicator.
- Computer skills, conversant with Microsoft word, power point and excel.
- Must be independent, able to deliver under minimum supervision.
- Must be ready to work under high pressure and demonstrate high level of commitment to work.
