Sokoine University of Agriculture (SUA) was established on the 1st July 1984 by the Parliamentary Act No.6 of the same year, which was repealed by the Universities Act No.7 of 2005 from which the SUA Charter was granted in 2007.
The vision of SUA is to be a leading University in the provision of quality knowledge, skills and innovations in agriculture and allied sciences.
