The Tanzania Teachers Union (TTU / Chama cha Walimu Tanzania – CWT) is a trade union representing employees in the teaching profession across Mainland Tanzania. Registered under Registration Number 004 pursuant to the Employment and Labour Relations Act No. 6 of 2004, TTU employs permanent staff operating at its headquarters, regional, and district offices.

1. Personal Secretary (27 Positions)

  • Qualifications & Requirements:

    • Must have completed Form Four (CSEE) or higher secondary education.

    • Must possess NTA Level 4, 5, and 6 qualifications in Secretarial Studies recognized by NACTE.

    • Minimum of 2 years of practical working experience.

      Jobs

       

    • Experience in using computers and the internet.

    • Fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English.

  • Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Typing various official documents and reports for the Union.

    • Maintaining various records as directed by the supervisor.

    • Receiving visitors and directing them to the appropriate places for assistance.

      Labor& Employment Law

       

    • Handling incoming office communications and forwarding them to relevant supervisors.

    • Maintaining cleanliness of the Union’s offices.

    • Maintaining strict confidentiality of all office matters and performing any other duties assigned.

2. Lawyer (4 Positions)

  • Qualifications & Requirements:

    Africans& Diaspora

     

    • Must possess a Bachelor of Laws degree (LLB) from a university recognized by the Government.

    • Must have attended the School of Law and been admitted as an Advocate.

    • Must be a Tanzanian citizen.

    • Minimum of 2 years of practical experience.

    • Proficient in using computers.

    • Fluent in speaking and writing Kiswahili and English.

    • Applicants with a professional background in teaching will be given priority.

  • Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Handling various  legal cases involving the Union and its members before courts, labor tribunals, and authorized institutions.

    • Reading and interpreting laws, regulations, and legal documents.

    • Providing legal advice to teachers and the Union leadership.

      Legal

       

    • Resolving employment-related disputes faced by teachers.

    • Following up on the resolution of challenges affecting teachers in Government offices and employers’ offices.

General Conditions for All Applicants

  1. Citizenship & Age: Must be a Tanzanian citizen and not above 45 years of age.

  2. Experience: Must have at least 2 years of relevant experience.

    Education

     

  3. Work Location: Must be ready to work anywhere in Tanzania.

  4. Required Attachments:

    • Detailed CV with a reliable address, telephone contact details, and names of three (3) reliable referees.

    • Certified copies of academic and professional certificates (including Form IV and Form VI examination certificates where applicable).

    • Copy of Birth Certificate.

  5. Foreign Qualifications: Certificates obtained outside Tanzania must be verified and authenticated by relevant authorities (TCU and NECTA).
