Higher education secondary Education in Tanzania (Form five & Six) and training encompass post-Ordinary Level secondary education in Tanzania, leading to the award of certificates, diplomas and degrees. Even students who do not do Advanced Level studies can thus pursue higher education.

The academic year for public and private primary and lower secondary schools runs from January to December, with four terms.

Tanzanian students complete their Advanced Level (Form 6) final exams (ACSEE) in May and then attend compulsory national service for three months until September. The exam results are released in mid-July.

The Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) monitors the provision of education in all universities in the country. The vision of this commission is to maintain a system that provides higher education capable of supporting national social, economic and cultural development in a global context. University education in Tanzania takes about three years for liberal arts and business courses, four years for science engineering courses, and five years for medicine.

The holder of the CSEE qualification is expected to be able to apply skills of knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation in a broad range of activities.

Eligibility of CSEE Examination

Any students who have completed four years of secondary education at both government and non-government registered schools and passed form two secondary education examination or Qualifying Test. Also, repeaters of the same examination who registered themselves as private candidates.
