HESLB Majina Waliopata Mkopo 2025/2026, The Higher Education Students’ Loans Board (HESLB) has today released the first batch of loan and scholarship allocations for the 2025/2026 academic year, benefiting a total of 135,240 students across Tanzania.

According to the statement issued by HESLB, the allocation covers both new and continuing students, including recipients of the Samia Scholarship Programme.
Breakdown of Allocated Students and Funds
The first batch of beneficiaries includes:
- Undergraduate and Diploma Students:
A total of 46,294 students (40,952 undergraduate and 5,342 diploma students) have been allocated loans amounting to TZS 152 billion. - Samia Scholarship Beneficiaries:
About 615 students under the Samia Scholarship Programme have been granted scholarships worth TZS 3.3 billion. - Continuing Students:
A total of 88,331 continuing students who successfully passed their previous academic year exams have been allocated loans worth TZS 271.2 billion.
More Batches to Be Released Soon
HESLB has assured the public that additional batches of loan and scholarship allocations will continue to be released as the Board receives admission confirmations for first-year students and academic results for continuing students from various higher education institutions.
Students who have applied for loans and scholarships are urged to regularly check their application status through the Student’s Individual Permanent Account (SIPA) portal while the processing and verification of applications continue.
