Applications Open: L’Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents Caribbean for Women in Science Program 2025. Young women scientists in the Caribbean region are now invited to apply for the L’Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents Caribbean for Women in Science Program 2025. Created in 2023, this initiative is part of the global “For Women in Science” program, aiming to promote and support the participation of young women in scientific research and careers.
About the L’Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents Caribbean for Women in Science Program 2025

The L’Oréal-UNESCO Young Talents Caribbean program identifies and rewards outstanding young female researchers working in a variety of fields, including:
- Life and Environmental Sciences
- Material Sciences
- Mathematics
- Computer and Information Sciences
- Engineering Sciences and Technology
The program recognizes young doctoral and post-doctoral students, as well as early-career scientists, for the excellence of their academic achievements, originality of their research, and their commitment to sharing their passion for science with younger generations.
Despite progress, significant gender disparities remain in academia. Women hold only 18% of senior academic positions in science, and globally, just 4% of Nobel Prizes in science have been awarded to women. This program works to change that narrative in the Caribbean.
