Job Summary
The Relationship Manager (RM) – Chinese Desk will be responsible for defining and executing strategic client plans to develop profitable and integrated NBC products and services. The role aims to ensure client profitability, revenue growth, risk optimization, and consistent service delivery for Chinese clients across Corporate and Investment Banking (CIB) and Retail and Business Banking (RBB).
Key Responsibilities
1. Sales and Service
- Develop and implement strategic client plans with product partners.
- Grow portfolio value through cross-selling and upselling.
- Conduct portfolio returns analysis and manage revenue growth.
- Build strong relationships with client decision-makers and identify opportunities.
- Collaborate with NBC’s network to ensure stable service and client satisfaction.
- Promote digital banking channels and innovative solutions.
- Research client business contexts to provide tailored financial solutions.
- Enhance NBC’s reputation in the local community.
2. Business Focus
- Support client relationship management and sector strategies.
- Stay updated on market trends to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
- Drive product cross-sell and client profitability.
- Monitor revenue, budgets, and client cost structures.
- Conduct reporting, review pricing, and ensure client survey feedback is addressed.
3. Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with governance and regulatory requirements.
- Manage end-to-end credit processes including facility letters and monitoring.
- Proactively manage risks to avoid portfolio losses.
- Monitor high-risk clients and act as an escalation point for risk issues.
4. People Development
- Engage in continuous learning and training.
- Mentor and coach operational bankers, analysts, and peers.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Commerce, or Management Studies.
- Strong commercial mindset and customer service excellence.
- Effective communication skills and digital familiarity.
- Experience in a similar role at junior specialist level.
- Proven relationship-building and product/service knowledge.
- Openness to change and continuous development.
