The Tanzania National Roads Agency (TANROADS) on behalf of the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania entered into a Contract for the Upgrading of Makutano – Nyamuswa – Ikoma gate road to bitumen standard (135km); lot 2: Sanzate – Natta section (40km); Contract No. TRD/HQ/1042/2019/20.

The Contract period is 26 months including Defects Liability Period of 12 months. TANROADS Musoma

The Regional Manager’s Office TANROADS MUSOMA – Mara, on behalf of the Chief Executive, TANROADS, intends to recruit qualified and competent Staff to fill the following vacant posts for the specific duties on short-terms contract within the Region.

Successful applicants must be ready to work for considerable lengths of time in Bunda/ Serengeti District within the project area if situations warrant.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

1. JOB TITLE : OFFICE SECRETARY (1 POST)

Educational/Professional qualifications:-

Must have a Certificate in secretarial Service or equivalent from any recognized Learning Institution/coileges.
A National Form IV/VI certificate.

Work Experience:

Must have at least three (3) years cumulative experience related to clerical/ secretarial works
Self motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision;

Competence:

Must be Computer literate.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.

2. JOB TITLE: HIGHWAY ENGINEER ( 1 POST)

Duties/Responsibilities:

His/her duties shall comprise road surveys, construction of pavement structure, measuring of quantities and management of site operations. TANROADS MUSOMA

Educational/Professional qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor Degree in civil or highway Engineering or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ colleges.
Must be registered as Professional Engineer with ERB
A postgraduate qualification in highway engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA Condition of contract will be an added advantage.
A National Form IV/VI certificate.

Work Experience:

He/she must have a minimum of seven (07) years of specific experience related to road design and construction.
He/she must have served in a similar Capacity for at least two (2) projects for construction of bituminous roads of similar magnitude and complexity in the last seven (07) years.
In addition, he/she must have working experience of at least three (3) years in Sub Sahara Counties.

Competence:

Must be Computer literate. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.

3. JOB TITLE: MATERIAL TECHNICIAN (2 POSTS)

Must have a Full Technician Certificate or Diploma in civil engineering or equivalent from any recognized Learning Institution/coileges.
A National Form IV/VI certificate.

Work Experience:

At least 3 years cumulative experience related to road/ Bridge design and construction.
Served as a Pavement/Material Technician or an equivalent Capacity on at least Three (3) years in road construction project of similar magnitude and complexity.

Competence:

Must be Computer literate. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.

4. JOB TITLE: ASSISTANT SURVEYOR (1 POST)

Work Experience:

5. JOB TITLE: MATERIAL ENGINEER ( 1 POST)

Duties/Responsibilities:

He/she shall be responsible for ensuring the quality of all materials to be incorporated in the works, as well as the completed works, conform to the contract specifications.

Educational/Professional qualifications:

Must have a Bachelor Degree in Civil Engineering, pavement or material Engineering from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/colleges.
Must be registered as Professional Engineer with ERB.
A postgraduate qualification in Pavement or Materials Engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA Condition of contract will be an added advantage.
A National Form IV certificate.

Work experience:

He/she must have a minimum of seven (07) years of specific experience in Pavement/Materials matters related to road works.
He/she must have served at least two (2) road projects of similar magnitude and complexity in the last seven (07) years.
In addition, he/she must have working experience of at least three (3) years in Sub-Sahara Counties.

Competence:

Must be Computer literate.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision

6. JOB TITLE: TOPOGRAPHICAL/LAND SURVEYOR ( 1 POST)

He/She must possess a minimum of Advance Diploma in land surveying, or equivalent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/college. ii. He/she must be a Registered Land surveyor.

He/she must have a minimum of six (6) years’ experience in road design and construction.
He/she must be served in at least two (2) road construction projects of the similar magnitude and complexity in the last six (6) years.
In addition, he/she must have working experience of at least three (3) years in Sub- Sahara Counties.

Comptence:

Must be Computer literate.
Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision

7. JOB TITLE: CAD TECHNICIAN (1 POST)

Must be registered as Professional Engineer with ERB.
A postgraduate qualification in structural Engineering and experience in contract administration under FIDIC/PPRA Condition of contract will be an added advantage.
A National Form IVNI certificate.

Work Experience:

He/she must have a minimum of seven (07) years of specific experience in Bridge Design and construction.
He/she must have served in at least two (2) road projects of similar magnitude and complexity in the last seven (07) years.
In addition, he/she must have working experience of at least three (3) years in Sub- Sahara Counties.

Competence:

Must be Computer literate.
