Simba Champions VPL 2020/2021 beat Coastal Union 2-0. Two goals from John Bocco and Chriss Mugalu in the League game against Coastal Union at the Benjamin Mkapa Stadium are enough to make Simba claim the title after scoring 79 points that no other team in the league can achieve this season.
With each team having two league games remaining, the Simba Sc have won the title for the fourth time in a row since they did so in the 2017/2018 season.
The game started with both teams playing with caution as the Simba Sc looked better and in the 13th minute they got the lead through John Bocco who scored from a free kick into the Coastal Union box after the team’s goalkeeper Abubakar Abas caught the ball with his defender then catch it.
Simba’s attack on the Coastal goal continued and in the 23rd minute, Chriss Mugalu scored his team’s second goal by dribbling past the Coastal goalkeeper and then passing the ball into the net.
The Lions made a change in the 56th minute by removing the first goal scorer Bocco and replacing him with Meddie Kagere while in the 61st minute Coastal responded to the blows by replacing Haji Ugando with Hamad Majimengi.
Coastal’s Mudathir Said came on in the 66th minute, and two minutes later the Lions also made changes by replacing Clatous Chama with Said Ndemla.
Hassan Dilunga of Simba in the 77th minute entered the field to replace the second goal scorer, Mugalu and a minute later Simba to score through Luis Miquissone fired a powerful shot into the box and was parried by the Coastal goalkeeper. Up to 90 minutes end Simba 2-0 Coastal Union.
The result is not good for Coastal as they remain in second place from last (17) looking to relegate to the league standings with only two matches left which they will need to win all while praying for their top Gwambina, Ihefu, JKT Tanzania and Mbeya City to lose all their matches. .
