7 Things To Prepare For HESLB Loan Application 2023/2024, HESLB stands for Higher Education Student’s Loans Board, which is an institution in Tanzania responsible for providing loans and scholarships to Tanzanian students pursuing higher education. The main objective of HESLB is to ensure that all qualified and eligible Tanzanian students have access to affordable loans and scholarships to pursue their higher education dreams.
HESLB provides loans to students who have been admitted to accredited higher learning institutions in Tanzania, both public and private. These loans cover tuition fees, accommodation expenses, and other related costs. The loans are typically repaid by the students after completion of their studies and once they start working and earning a certain income threshold.
7 Things To Prepare For HESLB Loan Application 2023/2024
Have you completed form VI? Or, do you a student hoping to apply for a loan for the 2023/2024 academic year?
Prospective loan applicants are advised to prepare by ensuring the following:
- Read the ‘Guideline for Issuance of Loans for the Academic Year 2023/2024’ which will be available at www.heslb.go.tz from the first week of July, 2023.
- Having a bank account with the names contained in his fourth form certificate;
- Have a phone number registered in his name that he will use while in college;
- Verify birth certificate following the instructions of RITA (Tanzania Mainland) or ZCSRA (Zanzibar)
- Prepare a copy of guarantor’s ID. It can be one of NIDA, Voter’s Card, Driver’s License, Travel Pass, or Resident Zanzibari ID;
- Preparing pass-port size of the loan applicant and hi guarantor; and
- Prepare with your NIDA number. If you don’t have one at the moment, it won’t stop you from applying for a loan.
In addition, we would like to inform potential loan applicants that they will have enough time of 90 days to apply for a loan.
Therefore, they are currently advised to prepare the necessary documents to facilitate the loan application when the window opens in July, 2023.
