Integrated Rural Development Organization (IRDO) is a Rural based organization situated in Ileje District in Songwe Region Southern Highlands of Tanzania and is registered NGO under Tanzania NGO act of 2002 and works to cover Tanzania mainland. The organization is in agreement to implement USAID Kizazi kipya Project in Chunya/Songwe, Rungwe and Kyela Districts.
The Goal of the project is: Improved health and social wellbeing of OVC, young people and their families through strategic service delivery and support. The project aims to enable one million Tanzanian orphans and vulnerable children (OVC) and young people affected by HIV utilizing age appropriate HIV/AIDS-related and other services for improved care, health, nutrition, education, protection, livelihoods, and psycho-social well being.
The Organization has the strategic objectives of (1) Capacity building and empowerment of local communities to manage efficient utilization of resources for social economic development. (ii) Provide technical support to strengthen organizational governance, institutional capacity of the target groups and ensuring sustainability of the projects/activities. (111) Promote gender balance and environmental friendly practices. (iv) Strengthening collaboration and networking with other stakeholders in the development process including other emerging strategic development issues (v) Ensure formation of strategic alliances for learning and linking purposes.
