On behalf of Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) and The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI), the Public Service Recruitment Secretariat (PSRS) invites dynamic and suitably qualified Tanzanians to fill thirty (30) vacant posts as mentioned below:

1.0 MUHIMBILI ORTHOPAEDIC INSTITUTE (MOI)

Muhimbili Orthopaedic Institute (MOI) is an autonomous Institute established through an Act of Parliament No. 7 of 1996 with the main objective of providing services in the fields of Orthopaedics, Traumatology, and Neurosurgery. Furthermore, MOI offers research and training/capacity building to enhance service delivery to the community.

1.1 ARTISAN II (PAINTER) (01 POST)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Assist in minor service, repair, and installation works in carpentry, plumbing, electrical, masonry, and painting.
2. Assist in cleaning machines, equipment, and the working environment.
3. Support technicians and engineers in repairing non-biomedical equipment.
4. Observe safety precautions for personnel, tools, and equipment.
5. Ensure timely recording of equipment performance.
6. Maintain an inventory of working equipment/tools.
7. Adhere to standard operating procedures and MOI business processes.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Holder of Form IV/VI Certificates with Trade Test III or II in Painting and Printing or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

Remuneration:

• Salary Scale: PGSS 2/1.

1.2 MEDICAL OFFICER II (15 POSTS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Attend in-patients and out-patients.
2. Handle emergency medical duties.
3. Conduct investigations on admitted patients.
4. Ensure prescribed instructions are carried out.
5. Assist surgeons during operations.
6. Conduct minor operations.
7. Supervise medical students and interns in clinical duties.
8. Participate in clinical sessions, patient presentations, and research activities.
9. Adhere to standard operating procedures and MOI business processes.
10. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Holder of a Bachelor’s Degree in Medicine or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Must have completed a one-year internship and be registered with the Medical Council of Tanganyika.

Remuneration:

• Salary Scale: PMGSS 8/1.

1.3 RADIOGRAPHY TECHNICIAN II (02 POSTS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Take patients’ X-rays.
2. Maintain X-ray equipment and sterilize radiology instruments.
3. Ensure quality diagnosis of X-rays taken.
4. Maintain patient X-ray records.
5. Provide technical advice on radiation in the unit.
6. Prepare contrast media and chemicals for X-rays.
7. Process X-ray films.
8. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and MOI business processes.
9. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Holder of a Diploma in Radiography or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.
• Must be enrolled in the Medical Radiology and Imaging Professional Council.

Remuneration:

• Salary Scale: PMGSS 4/1.

1.4 RADIOLOGY SCIENTIST II (02 POSTS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Conduct various X-ray examinations.
2. Maintain radiology equipment and ensure quality imaging.
3. Participate in ward rounds and clinical meetings.
4. Train junior staff.
5. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and MOI business processes.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Radiography, X-ray Technology, Radiology, or Medical Imaging from a recognized institution.
• Must be registered with the Medical Radiology and Imaging Professional Council.

Remuneration:

• Salary Scale: PMGSS 5/1.

1.5 SHOE MAKER II (02 POSTS)

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Make orthopaedic boots and compensation shoes under supervision.
2. Cast and adjust orthopaedic boots to meet user needs.
3. Train patients on the use of orthopaedic footwear.
4. Maintain records of orthopaedic boot users.
5. Ensure adherence to standard operating procedures and MOI business processes.
6. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Holder of a Secondary Certificate plus Trade Test III or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

Remuneration:

• Salary Scale: PMOSS 2/1.

2.0 THE JAKAYA KIKWETE CARDIAC INSTITUTE (JKCI)

The Jakaya Kikwete Cardiac Institute (JKCI) is a specialized hospital dedicated to evidence-based cardiovascular care, training, and research. JKCI serves patients referred from all regions of Tanzania for super-specialized cardiovascular treatment.

2.1 ARTISAN II (AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION) – 1 POST

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Perform specified craft jobs under close supervision.
2. Maintain tools and equipment.
3. Assist in preparing cost estimates for repairs.
4. Ensure workshop cleanliness and maintenance.
5. Maintain machinery, tools, and equipment.
6. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Holder of Form IV/VI Certificate plus Trade Test III or Level I in Air Conditioning and Refrigeration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution.

Remuneration:

• Salary Scale: PGSS 4.
