MPYA: Nauli Za Mabasi 2022. Land Transport Regulatory Authority LATRA has announced new fares for daladala and regional buses.
LATRA has stated that the new fare rates will come into effect on May 14, 2022, with a fare of Shs. 400 increasing to 500 with a fare of Shs. 450 would be 550.

For regional buses the standard 1 per kilometer increase has increased by 11 percent from Sh 36 per kilometer to Sh41. “With the middle class increased by 6% one passenger will pay Sh56.88 per kilometer from Sh53”
Ngewe said after making calculations in accordance with the LATRA Act of 2019 and the Tariff Regulations 2020 the Authority has announced new standards as proposed by stakeholders.
He said the new standards include buses providing transport services in the regions and neighboring countries which have increased by 11.92 percent for the standard grade and 6.88 percent for the middle class.
Ngewe said, the prices also included buses providing services in urban areas (Daladala) where fares have risen from four hundred (400) to five hundred (500) shillings for a short distance of 0 to 10 km and a long distance of 36 to 40 km for Shs. .1100.
