TRA Online TIN Service (OTS) | Online TIN Number Registration
TRA Online TIN Services (OTS) is the online platform that will allow TRA to provide a more efficient and cost effective self-service TIN registration to customers(Taxpayers) in a timely manner, as access to the service will be made available on a 24/7 basis.
The System shall be integrated with National Identification System for proof of individual identity during registration process.
The System requires that each applicant has a National Identification Number (NIN) that has been issued by National Identification Authority (NIDA) or other National IDs. You can apply TIN Number by:-

- Without National Identification Number(NIN)
- With Existing TIN Registered without NIN
Online TIN service allow Taxpayer to be registered and profile to be created online. It is a Web-based self-service facility that enable Taxpayer to receive and print copy of TIN certificate without visit TRA offices.
Using National Identification Number(NIN)

- Browse TRA Online TIN Service on TRA website (www.tra.go.tz) found under Register TIN or direct URL (https://taxpayerportal.tra.go.tz/#/self-service/taxpayer-identity-number-registration) and click register button
- Enter National Identification Number (NIN) with phone number used to register for National Identification Number (NIN).
- You will be required to answer security questions if phone number entered was not used to register for National Identification Number(NIN).
Without National Identification Number(NIN)
- Browse TRA Online TIN Service on TRA website (www.tra.go.tz) found under Register TIN or direct URL (https://taxpayerportal.tra.go.tz/#/self-service/taxpayer-identity-number-registration) and click register button
- Then select Without National Identification Number(NIN)
- Then Please, choose Individual TIN Application Category
- INDIVIDUAL NON BUSINESS TIN APPLICATION SECTION
NON BUSINESS TIN
For activities other than Business such as Application for Driving License. - INDIVIDUAL BUSINESS TIN APPLICATION SECTION
BUSINESS TIN
For Business purposes such as application of Business License.

With Existing TIN Registered without NIN
- Browse TRA Online TIN Service on TRA website (www.tra.go.tz) found under Register TIN or direct URL (https://taxpayerportal.tra.go.tz/#/self-service/taxpayer-identity-number-registration) and click register button
- Then select With Existing TIN Registered without NIN
- The Special window for those who have a TIN Registered Without National Identification Number (NIN)will appear
- Enter your TIN and follow next steps
