Power your research with our Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence (International), covering tuition fees and a £1,015 monthly living allowance.
This competitive scholarship recognises and rewarding outstanding international students who apply to study a full-time PhD.
These will be awarded in each year of your three-year PhD, subject to satisfactory progress.

Eligibility Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence (International)
To apply for this scholarship, you must:
- be classed as an international student for fee purposes
- hold an offer to start a full-time PhD or MPhil in any subject (excluding engineering) at University of Nottingham UK with a start date that falls on or between 1 October 2020 and 1 February 2021
We welcome applications from suitable candidates but would particularly value applications from strong candidates wishing to work within the research priority areas of each faculty.

How to apply Vice-Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence (International)
You must apply for and receive an offer to study a full-time PhD before applying for this scholarship. Search for PhD opportunities and find out how to apply.
When you have received your offer to study with us, you can apply through the scholarships section of our application system, MyNottingham.
Applications will close at midnight (UK time) on Friday 20 March 2020.
Application criteria
Scholarships will only be awarded to students who accept their offer to study with us. You do not need to respond to your offer before applying for this scholarship. If you are offered a scholarship and do not then accept your offer, your scholarship will be offered to another applicant.
