Honda’s overseas luxury car brand Acura announced on February 14 that it will start accepting pre-orders for the new “ 2023 Acura Integra ” on March 10 in the United States. The local base price is planned to be about 30,000 dollars.
2023 Acura Integra pre-orders start on March 10
The Honda Integra became popular as a sports coupe and 4-door hardtop for young people in the Japanese market in the 1980s and 1990s. The high-performance grade “Type R” was set for the 3rd and 4th generations. However, as of 2006, Honda stopped selling the Integra in Japan.
The Integra in the United States was introduced as one of the first two Acura commercial vehicles on March 27, 1986, when the Acura brand was launched locally. In 2002, with the model change, the car name was changed to Acura “RSX” (Japanese name: equivalent to the 4th generation Integra). It was discontinued in 2006.
Acura plans to bring the Integra back to the US market in the spring of 2022. The new Integra, which will be revived for the first time in 16 years, will be added to the Acura brand lineup as a premium sports compact with a 5-door design. The new model was inspired by successive Integras, including the first generation that contributed to the launch of the Acura brand in 1986. The new Integra will be a premium sports compact with an exciting 5-door design and drive fun, and will be positioned as a new introductory performance model for the Acura brand.
The new Integra designed in Japan has a bold exterior styling. Featuring a sloping roofline and liftback tailgate, it has a unique coupe-like presence. The fifth-generation model, a modern interpretation of the successive Integra, features the embossed Integra logo under the headlights and taillights.
Acura’s new frameless diamond Pentagon grille, first announced in the “Type S Concept” in the summer of 2019, will be used in the new Integra. In the case of the new Integra, the unique headlights unique to Acura are a combination of LED headlights called “Jewel Eye” and LED daytime running lights named “Chicane” placed on top of them.
The rear is equipped with a muscular rear wheel arch and dual exhaust, emphasizing a wide tread. Inspired by the traditional Integra, the rear style features a chicane LED daytime running light on the front and a wide tail light with a common image.
The same Indy Yellow Pearl body color as the “NSX” is a color that pays homage to the Phoenix Yellow of the 2000-2001 model “Integra Type R”. High-gloss Berlina black accents are added to the roof, rear spoiler, door mirror covers, diffuser and front grille. The Integra name is boldly placed on the entire side of the vehicle.
Behind the matte 19-inch 5-spoke aluminum wheels is a Brembo caliper painted in Indy Yellow, the same color as the body. The high-performance brakes offer incredible stopping power and an aggressive look.
The powertrain will be equipped with a 1.5-liter in-line 4-cylinder gasoline “VTEC turbo” engine. A 6-speed MT will be prepared for the LSD and transmission to excite the new generation of driving enthusiasts.
