The Regional Manager’s Office TANROADS MARA, on behalf of the Chief Executive, TANROADS, is looking for suitably qualified Tanzania candidates for various vacant posts available for the project Rehabilitation and Upgrading of Musoma Airport; Contract NO. TRD/HQ/1023/2020/23 and Weighbridge Stations for the contract period of 24 Months.
1. POSITION TITLE: OFFICE SECRETARY (1 POST).
Educational/ Professional Qualifications:
- A National form IV/VI certificate.
- Must have a NTA level 6 Certificate in secretarial Services or equivelent from any College recognized by NACTE.
- Work Experience: He/she must have at least three (3) years cumulative experience of conducting works in projects of similar nature and magnitude.
- Must be Computer literate Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.
2. POSITION TITLE: WEIGHBRIDGE OPERATOR (1 POST).
Key qualification for the Weighbridge Operator:
- Holder of full Technician Certificate or Ordinary Diploma in Civil; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (FTC);
- Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications);
- Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages:
- Must be Tanzanian Citizen Not above 35years of Age.
Duties and Responsibilities of Weighbridge Operator.
The holder of this post who reports to Shift Incharge will be responsible for:
- Enforcing Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of weighbridge scale devices;
- Carrying out activities as described in the road Traffic (maximum weigh of Vehicles) Regulations, 2001 which include the following; Weighing motor vehicles gross vehicle weight (GVW) > 3.500kg plying on our public Roads. Imposing road damage fees on the spot for overloaded vehicles; Measuring physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle for providing advices to transporter for provision od relevant advice.
- Recording all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed;
- Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity;
- Reporting all matters of the respective shift in-charge;
- Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Shift In-charge/ Regional Manager;
3. POSITION TITLE: PAVEMENT/MATERIALS ENGINEER (1 POST).
Educational/ Professional Qualifications:
- A National form IV/VI certificate.
- Must have a Bachelor Degree in Civil or Pavement or Material Engineering from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ Colleges.
- Must be registered as Professional Engineer with ERB A postgraduate qualification in Pavement or Material Engineering will be an added advantage.
- Work Experience: He/she must have a minimum of ten (10) years of specific experience in Pavement/Material matters related to road/airport works. He/she must have served in a similar Capacity in at least two (2) airport projects of similar magnitude and complexity in the last ten (10) years.
- Must be Computer literate Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.
- His/her tasks shall include but not limited to ensuring quality and quality control of construction materials and works including carrying out design verifications for materials and drainage.
4. POSITION TITLE: ENVIRONMENTALIST (Part Time) (1 POST).
Educational/ Professional Qualifications:
- A National form IV/VI certificate.
- Must have a Bachelor Degree in Environment Management, Environmental Science or related displine from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ Colleges.
- The expert should be registered as EIA expert within NEMC.
- Work Experience: He/she must have a minimum of eight (8) years of commulative experience on environmental and social related activities. He/she must have practical experience of supervising environmental issues in at least two (2) airport projects of similar nature and complexity within the last eight (8) years. She/He must have at least two (2) years of working in Sub- Sahara Africa.
- Must be Computer literate Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.
- He/She shall be responsible for monitoring of implementation of environmental and social management plan of the project.
5. POSITION TITLE: CAD Technician (1 POST).
Educational/ Professional Qualifications:
- A National form IV/VI certificate.
- Must have a Certificate of CAD or equivelent from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ Colleges.
- Work Experience: He/she must have a least two (2) years cumulative experience of conducting CAD works.
- Must be Computer literate Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Self-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.
6. POSITION TITLE: ELECTRICAL/AERONAUTICAL ENGINEER (PartTime) (1 POST).
Educational/ Professional Qualifications:
- A National form IV/VI certificate. Must have a Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ Colleges.
- Must be registered as Professional Engineer with ERB
- Work Experience: He/she must have a minimum of fifteen (15) years of general experience in electrical works and at least five (5) years specific experience of working as Airfield Grounding Light (AGL) expert. He/she should demonstrate experience in the design and supervision of AGL works in at least three (3) airport projects of similar nature magnitude.
- Must be Computer literate He/She must be conversant with British and ICAO Standards. Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- His/her responsibility will include review of elecrtical installation plans and AGL Contractors proposals for installing the AGLs.
- He/She will supervise the electrical and AGL installation, commissioning and testing of installed facilities.
7. POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT SURVEYOR (1 POST)
Educational/ Professional Qualifications:
- A National form IV/VI certificate. Must have a Diploma in Land Surveying orequivelentfrom any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ Colleges.
- Work Experience: He/she must have a least two (2) years cumulative experience of conducting survey works.
- Must be Computer literate Proficiency in written and spoken English is mandatory.
- Seif-motivation, able to work under pressure outside working hours with minimum supervision.
8. POSITION TITLE: WEIGHBRIGE SHIFT INCHARGE (2 POSTS)
Key qualification for the Shift In-charge:
- A National form IV/VI certificate. Holder of Undergraduate Degree in any profession from any recognized Higher Learning Institution/ Colleges.
- Must be Computer literate (at least Advance Certificate in Computer Applications);
- Must be fluent in both written and spoken Kiswahili and English Languages:
- Must be Tanzanian Citizen Between 35 and 40 Years of Age.
Duties and Responsibilities of Shift In-charge.
The shift In-charge who reports to the Regional Manager will be responsible for:
- Enforcing Road Traffic Axle Load Control by the use of weighbridge scale devices.
- Supervising shift activities that among others including: Weighing motor vehicles Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) > 3.500kg plying on our public Roads; Imposing road damage fees on the spot for overloaded vehicles; Measuring physical dimensions of motor vehicle or any load being carried on the motor vehicle for providing advices to transporter incase of non compliance with vehicle dimension limit;
- Recording all necessary particulars regarding the motor vehicle being weighed;
- Observing good customer care, dignity and integrity;
- Reporting all matters on Axle Load Control to the Regional Manager;
- Performing other duties as may be assigned from time to time by the Regional Manager;
