Missenyi District Council is one of the districts of Kagera Region, with postcode number 35300. It was established in 2007 due to the areas of Bukoba Rural district.
The district is bordered by Uganda to the north, Lake Victoria to the east and Karagwe District, Kagera Region to the south. The district is located west of Lake Victoria. It is one of the 8 district governments in Kagera Region. The area of the district is 2709 km.
