The Institute for the Prevention and Combating of Corruption (PCCB) has said it has completed an investigation into allegations against the former Director General of the Tanzania Ports Authority (TPA), TPA Boss Deusdedit Kakoko by 98 percent.
TAKUKURU Director General, Brigadier General John Mbungo said the remaining two percent is the CAG report which is important. “The CAG report is very important, otherwise we will not be able to go to court.” said Mbungo.
On March 30, this year, the institution arrested Kakoko for questioning on corruption allegations two days after President Samia Suluhu ordered his suspension pending an investigation into embezzlement of public funds.
President Samia also instructed the Controller and Auditor General (CAG), Dr Charles Kichere to investigate how Shs 3.6 billion was spent on the port authority.
