PUBLIC NOTICE NEW STANDARDS AND GUIDELINES FOR UNIVERSITY EDUCATION IN TANZANIA
This is to inform our esteemed stakeholders and the general public that pursuant to Section 5(1)(l) of the Universities Act, Cap. 346 of the Laws of Tanzania, the Tanzania Commission for Universities (TCU) is mandated to set various standards and guidelines for university education in Tanzania.

During the end of the year 2017, TCU embarked into the review of the 2nd Edition of the Quality Assurance General Guidelines and Minimum Standards for Provision of University Education in Tanzania that has been applied since 2014.
The review process involved different stakeholders including the Committee of
Vice Chancellors and Principals/Provosts in Tanzania (CVCPT).
This is to introduce to you the 3rd Edition of Standards and Guidelines for University Education in Tanzania, 2019 approved by the Commission at its 95th meeting held on 12th December, 2019.
