JOB TITLE: Audit Manager
Actively engage in planning of the audit, actual fieldwork as well as completion and reporting.
Take full ownership of the engagement following up with the Engagement Partner to relieve the Partner of close supervision and unnecessary paperwork.
A.2 Be a liaison between the Firm and the clients by applying leadership and negotiation skills A.3 Be a team player. Demonstrate ability to work as part of the team. Identify training needs within team and suggest improvement strategies. A.4 Work with Risk Management Partner in identifying professional and compliance risks and devising means to mitigate against such risks A.5 Demonstrate ability to analyze problems, identify core issues, investigate, evaluate and integrate information for discussion with Partners A.6 Manage the Technical Training Program including in-house technical update program/calendar and external training program. A.7 Ensure that all audit engagements are performed by utilizing the Firm’s Audit Software (CASEWARE) A.8 Ensure the audit department adheres to all provisions of the ISQC 1 A.9 Oversee the Firm’s Quality Control Process B: Team Management Component B.1 Demonstrate high level of Professional Etiquette B.2 Demonstrate ability to provide counseling (mentoring) and aspiring junior members of team to excel B.3 Timely completion of staff performance appraisal for engagements and provide summary feedback to Partners accordingly for appropriate course of action B.4 Provide regular feedback to fellow managers and Partners of progress or any matter for which you are responsible. C: Client Management Component C.1 Act as first choice point of contact between the firm and the clients for your portfolio and manage engagement costs, raising fee notes, effectively collecting invoiced fees, agree engagement delivery dates and overall engagement management C.2 Draft engagement correspondences, DRAFT Reports to the best of your ability for the partners’ review before these are disseminated to clients C.3 Keep abreast of key changes in the industry such as: changing legal statutes (tax, etc.); budget sessions; regulator’s pronouncements; IFRS/IAS/IPSAS/USAID/CDC updates; etc. and be able to provide necessary billable guidance to clients C.4 Keep up-to-date with ABA Alliance’s products and servicesDemonstrate comprehensive understanding of products/services offered by the Firm so as to identify and take up opportunities that may arise during the course of working with clients and/or networking
C.5 Be responsible to build the Firm’s reputation through quality work, demonstrated technical knowledge and professional experience. C.6 Demonstrated ability to generate new businesses to the firm through actively involvement in identifying opportunities for growth of the Firm’s Revenue and participate effectively in writing Winning Proposals and strategic networking C.7 Actively take part as technical facilitator in external training sessions organized by the Regulator and/or related authorities. D: Accounting; Tax & Other Advisory Services D.1 Be flexible to accommodate, whenever necessary, other tasks that may be assigned to you D.2 Ability to perform accounting functions ranging from: Maintaining client’s books of accounts (GL) which may include weekly/monthly visits to client premises to oversee postings/reports generated and take appropriate course of action.To effectively perform this task, you will be expected to be conversant with:
o E-filing;
o Payroll processing;
o VAT preparation/filing/consultations;
o Reconciliation of various account balances;
o preparation and/or review of various reports;
o Oversee preparation of financial statements and/or perform pre-audit reviews/preparations for clients;
o Where applicable and whenever necessary, be responsible to manage external auditors
o Other similar tasks/responsibilities as may be agreed from time to time depending on client needs.
D3 Act as a Liaison Officer between the partners/directors in handling Accounting/Tax/ Advisory clients by demonstrating good understanding of contracts that the Firm has with clients and represent the Partners/Directors in various meetings that the Firm is required to present financial performances of the entities to which the Firm provides such professional serviceso Review work done by staff in the accounting/ advisory team
o Provide guidance and direction to the accounting/advisory team
o Identify the deliverables for each client and work towards meeting the requirements
E: ACADEMIC & PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION and EXPERIENCEThe candidate should have the MINIMUM requirements as below:
(i) First Degree in: Finance and/or Accounting from a reputable University
(ii) Qualified CPA (T)/ACCA
(iii) Audit working experience of at least FOUR (4) YEARS with reputable Professional Firms
(iv) Ability to work diligently demonstrating high level of commitment to work under MINIMUM supervision
(v) Good Team Player and Good Communicator with Emphasis on ability to provide timely feedback for effective management
(vi) Willingness to learn and use knowledge so gained for furtherance of own & Firm’s progress
