This season of 2019/2020 Tanzania was in 12th position and that is why it provided 4 teams. Simba, Yanga, Azam FC and KMC.
But due to the poor performance of those teams, Tanzania dropped to 13th chance, and Libya which was 18th, climbed to 12th place due to its Al Nasr team reaching the quarter-finals of the Confederations Cup.
However, Libya will not be taking part in the CAF tournament for the upcoming 2020/2021 season due to failure finish their league.
This is the second time the country has failed to finish the league, so the CAF have punished them by removing them from the competition.
Now if Libya is not there, their four positions may fall to the next after them, who are Tanzania.

If so, then the Tanzanian participating teams are as follows.
- Lions – Champions League
- Yanga – Champions League
- Namungo – Confederations Cup
- Azam FC – Confederations Cup
