St. Nicholas of Myra, also known as Nicholas of Bari, was a 4th-century bishop of Myra in Lycia, Asia Minor (modern-day Turkey). He is revered by Christians as a saint and is also famous for giving gifts to children on his feast day.
Saint Nicholas Day falls on December 6 every year. It is traditionally celebrated with the giving of small presents to others or putting sweets and treats into shoes left out for him to find at night.
In some countries including Germany and Belgium, parents will put their children’s shoes outside before going to bed on Saint Nicholas Eve for him to fill with candy or small toys if they’ve been good during the year ahead.

If you’re an aviation enthusiast, International Civil Aviation Day is a must-celebrate. On this day, the aviation industry around the world celebrates its history and achievements. ICAO was created in 1944 to ensure safe, orderly and efficient air navigation across international borders.
It is a specialized agency of the United Nations that sets standards for civil aeronautics throughout the world. The agency has its main offices in Montreal, Canada but it has an extensive network of representation offices located around the globe.
8th December – Bodhi Day #BodhiDay | Immaculate Conception Of The Blessed Virgin Mary
The day of 8th December is known as Bodhi Day which is a Buddhist holiday celebrated on December 8th. This holiday commemorates the enlightenment of Gautama Buddha who was also known as Siddhartha Gautama, Prince Siddhartha or Buddha Shakyamuni.
Bodhi Day is also known as the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and it falls on 8th December annually. The date has been established by Pope Pius IX on 2nd February 1854 in an Apostolic Constitution that proclaimed it would be celebrated each year after Christmas Eve Masses had been said, which were usually held around midnight or early morning in many countries at that time due to daylight saving time being nonexistent then too!

9th December – International Anti-Corruption Day #AntiCorruptionDay
On December 9th, a new holiday is celebrated. This day marks International Anti-Corruption Day, which aims to raise awareness about corruption and its consequences.

Noodle Ring Day is a food holiday that celebrates the noodle ring. It is celebrated on December 11 in honor of the invention of the noodle ring by an American scientist named Dr. John B. Noodle in 1743. The first Noodle Ring Day was held in 1815, when it was declared by President Andrew Jackson as “the greatest day in history” after eating his first ever noodle ring at a White House dinner hosted by Thomas Jefferson and James Madison.

The legend says that on this day, a man named Joel Roberts Poinsett saw some flowers growing in Mexico and took them home with him when he returned to the United States. He was so impressed by these flowers that he cultivated them in his greenhouse, where they grew rapidly and produced beautiful blooms. On December 12th of 1828, Poinsett sent some seeds back to South Carolina where they were planted near his home. Las Posadas takes place over eight days with each night dedicated to a different scene from the Holy Family’s search for lodging in Bethlehem during their escape to Egypt after King Herod ordered the execution of all young male children born in Bethlehem (Matthew 2:13). The first night of Las Posadas is always December 16th, followed by 17th through 23rd. On December 24th Christmas Eve pilgrims celebrate finding rooms at an inn where Mary and Joseph can rest as well as attend midnight mass after staying awake all night long!
