DIT Important Notice For Re-Opening Of University
The Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology (DIT) is one of the high learning institutions in Tanzania. Originally established in 1957, it is fully accredited by the National Council for Technical Education (NACTE) to offer technician and engineering programmes leading to the awards of Ordinary Diploma(OD) in engineerig, Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) respectively and Master of Engineering (MEng).

In 1957, the Dar es Salaam Technical Institute was established charged with providing vocational training. It quickly expanded to offer technical secondary school courses. In 1962 it became the Dar es Salaam Technical College, and in 1964 began offering courses in engineering and other related professional areas, leading to Full Technician Certificates. It gradually added more advanced courses and degrees and in 1997 it became the Dar es Salaam Institute of Technology

DIT Important Notice For Re-Opening Of University
- In accordance with the Government directive issued on 21st May, 2020; DIT students are hereby informed that they are required to report at the Institute on 1st June, 2020 ready for classes which will resume effectively from that date (1st June, 2020).
- The revised academic calendar will be provided through the DIT website before 1st June, 2020.
- Students who have not registered for 2019/20 Semester 2, are hereby reminded to do so by generating Control numbers for fees payments through the OSIM system before effecting the payments and undergo OSIM ONLINE registration. Every student is required
to complete the ONLINE registration process prior to reporting at the Institute. - Special arrangement will be in place for issuing identity cards for students who will be confirmed to have accomplished the
registration. - In order to avoid COVID-19 infections amongst the DIT community, students will be requested to take all necessary precautions including washing hands, using hand sanitizers and putting on face masks. No student will be allowed to move within the Institute premises without putting on a face mask.
