Ghana Government Increase Salar And Pay Water Bill From COVID-19
Ghanaian President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has announced to make payment of water invoices for three months (April, May and June), due to people being denied access. In addition, health workers will not pay taxes in those months, and will be given an additional 50% of their salaries over the period March to June 2020.
He said those to intensify the fight against the COVID-19 disease caused by the Coronavirus, where a special fund has been set up under retired Chief Justice Sophia Akuffo.
According to Akufo-Addo, the government is also preparing 1,000 medical staff and 1,000 volunteers to help get people involved with infected people.
He has also announced a plan to cost Ghana 1 billion GHC that will stimulate the country’s economy that has slowed down since the attack.
Also, he said 78 people who were in isolated at the start of the attack, were diagnosed with the disease. He also said that 97 percent of cases of the disease had been imported.
