The Government of Tanzania has provided Sh1.26 trillion between 2015 and 2021 for free education. Deputy Minister in the Office of the President Tamisemi, David Silinde made the remarks in parliament in Dodoma today March 31, 2021 while answering a question from Mtwara Urban MP (CCM), Hassan Mtenga.
He said in the 2021/22 budget the government has allocated Sh312.09 billion for free education which is an increase of Sh13.36 billion for the current budget.
Silinde said it was the Government’s plan to ensure that they improve the program to raise the quality of education
Responding to a supplementary question from Mtama Constituency Member of Parliament (CCM), Nape Nnauye about introducing a free education program for Form Five, he said the Government has taken the request and will work to see if it will work.
