“Austral conjures up the brightness and warmth of the southern hemisphere. The name invites you to an adventure and is ideal for an SUV, ”explained Silvia Dos Santos, car naming strategy manager for Renault Group.
The length of the five-seater crossover will be 4.51 meters, the design of the model will receive features of the Renault Megane E-Tech .the car will be built on the CMF platform, which is also used by the current Nissan Qashqai .
According to unofficial data, the range of Austral engines will include a 1.3-liter gasoline engine. The unit will work in conjunction with a six-speed manual transmission or variator. Most likely, there will be no diesel units in the line of motors.
