WATER GRADUATE EMPLOYMENT PROGRAMME PROVIDING WORK EXPOSURE AND CAPACITY BUILDING OPPORTUNITIES
2nd CALL FOR UNEMPLOYED GRADUATES TO APPLY
The Water Research Commission (WPC) together with the Department of Science and Innovation (DSI) have partnered to develop a short-term programme to support the employability of graduates who have the passion and ability to contribute towards the water and sanitation (and linked) sectors in South Africa across multiple disciplines.
We invite unemployed graduates looking to make a contribution to the water and sanitation sector in areas such as water treatment, quality, sanitation, innovation, ecological infrastructure, data science, climate change, agriculture, green markets, ICT, water finance and economics etc, to apply for a 4-month funded opportunity to gain work experience and participate in capacity building.
The programme has kicked off and we are taking on more unemployed graduates willing to make kicks-off In March 2021.
What does the programme entail?
- Monthly stipend of R3500
- Operational costs covered separately
- Exposure to implementation projects, research, innovation, business processes etc
- Mentorship
- Structured capacity building
- Engagement and networking with potential employers
Selected graduates will be required to work through a structured 3-4 month workplan agreed to with the mentor/host (work-from-home, field and in-office options)
