Yanga’s first session under new president engineer, Hersi Said is expected to take place tomorrow, among the agendas mentioned will be given a chance to discuss where the club will camp, to prepare for next season (2022/23).
Yanga initially hoped to set up camp in the United States, where a report from Mwanaspoti newspaper said coach Nasreddine Nabi did not agree with it, demanding that it be sought out nearby to get more time to prepare the team.
The Karatu region, which is Nabi’s proposal, has also been mentioned, as well as Turkey, which the leaders want, so in that session it can be decided where Yanga will set up camp for next season.
“Last season coach Nabi did not like to set up camp outside where he did not have much time to prepare for the squad and looking at the little time he has to prepare for the African Champions League and the next Premier League he sees going to the United States will waste a lot of time,” said one team leader.
He added: “Nabi’s request not to go to the United States has been approved, but to go to Karatu is being discussed.” Since Hersi was elected President of Yanga that will be his first session, which will give a whole picture of what he will start with after taking office.
Yanga held elections on July 9 in which Hersi was ousted and former chairman Dr Mshindo Msolla stepped down.
